Working Together

The Maidstone Partnership has followed guidelines set out by the Home Office, and has a cross representative steering group and a committed management team working under the auspices of Maidstone Town Centre Management.

Counted among members of MaidSafe are some of the very biggest High Street names as well as many other speciality shops that make Maidstone a unique shopping destination. The growing membership of MaidSafe is testament to the success of the scheme and a clear recommendation to businesses considering joining.

A key partner in the MaidSafe Partnership is Maidstone Borough Council’s CCTV system. A first class system offering a first class service the CCTV coverage of Maidstone town centre is a major tool in the town’s fight against crime. The CCTV operators work very closely with the town centre policing unit to ensure a rapid response to any incident.

Much of the success in making Maidstone a safe town in which to shop and work in, is thanks to the commitment of the local partnership in making town centre policing a priority.

MaidSafe also employs its own full-time Intelligence Manager to offer support and training to members of the scheme. The Intelligence Manager ensures the flow of information on local crime and known criminals is both relevant and up to date, through news letters, formal monthly meetings and day-to-day contact with members.
