Maidstone Town Centre Management recognise the importance of providing a website that is inclusive and available for all users.

In such Maidstone Town Centre Managements website has been created to support internet users who have disabilities.  We believe the pages of this website are in line with the World Wide Web Consortium's Content Accessibility Guidelines.

We have:

  1. Provided alt attributes to images on this site to describe the function of each visual.
  2. When using image maps, we have created text hotspots.
  3. Created text that makes sense when read out linked to Hypertext links.
  4. Page Construction, we have used headings, lists and consistent structure throughout the site and utilised CSS for layout.
  5. Provided alternative content to scripts, applets, & plug-ins.  We have created active features that replace inaccessible or unsupported features.
  6. We have avoided using nay frames.
  7. Any tables used are based on a line by simple to read layout.
  8. All work is checked and validated using online validation tools.  We have used the tools, checklist, and guidelines available at http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG

Partially sighted users – changing to text only.

We have provided the facility to change the style of the website to a text only site.  Each page is provided in a text format. These pages feature text laid out without the graphics.  They feature a duplicate of the full site information.  The text pages include Main Menu, Other Content and Main Page Content. 

You can click on the Maidstone Town Centre logo to navigate to the main home page.  At the bottom of each page you can click to browse the full (CSS, Image and HTML) website.
